the title has nothing to do with the post. it's just what i'm having for breakfast. speaking of which, bubbles/ja - don't you miss waking up early to watch the sunrise at mat bay and then heading to that baker's beside the caltex and having breakfast??? :) let's do that... end of the yr! on bo???

the war in the office is getting worse, to the point where cracks are beginning to show on even the toughest persons. i wonder how that's going to pan out. colleague made a remark on how the ones who can work need to work their arses off, while others who can't perform can just sit down and complete their work OTOT. kinda unfair but that's the working world right? i'm pretty disappointed at how this particular colleague is behaving nowadays. totally different from 2 years ago. not that i want to be a racialist or generalise his people, but honestly they haven't been real awesome at making good impressions. something that irked me over last week was this:

le-le and i were on grand (one of the vessels currently parked in batam), and we're just hanging out after the training, along with a couple of crew. then our diRector, walks in with a swagger that only he can carry off. he saunters over to us, and asked what we were doing. replied that we just finished with training and stuff.. continue chatting to le-le. btw, my eyes were trained at his pronounced belly that seem to jiggle with every step he took (gross i know.. but i can't seem to tear my eyes away from the horrible sight, sick pleasure of some sort). then he looks towards the crew, and here's the conversation that took place:

diRector: so how? you all know teledata?
crew: yes yes... (of cos they would say yes, we were still there..)
diRector: you sure?!
crew: yes yes...
diRector: you sure ah... there is test. i will test you. if you fail, i will deduct your salary. *cue laughter from him*
------ tension and awkwardness on the bridge ------
crew: *cue forced laughter*
le-le and i: *rolling our eyes at each other*

seriously. what the fuck do you put your brains?!

why did that irked me? firstly, it is not right when you talk about the crew's salary. whether or not you meant it as a joke, you still should not have said that. who are you to say this? do you know them well enough to joke about it? have you built a rapport with them, such that they won't find it insensitive/offensive when you say that to them? secondly, what right do you have to say that you want to test them on teledata, when you haven't been using the damn system at all?!!!! since when did you accquire the knowledge of teledata? thirdly, if your jokes aren't funny, don't even say them.

pple won't respect you just because you are the asst manager, you need to earn their respect. and when you don't put thought in your words, then you're just an empty vessel making a hell lot of noise. would you know the conditions of work that the crew has to face, to even earn that amount of money? can you even comprehend the idea of having to work 3-6 months at sea, and not being able to see their family? no! because you don't even want to travel abroad when it's necessitate by work. even i dare not to make such a statement, even if i had my dad as my kao shan.

can't wait for saturday! woots! touch touch touch!! yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i hope more girls turn up. so can slow the game down. hmmm or we could just be more vocal and call for the ball?! woots.... batam again from wed to fri.... hello disconnected-ness to the world. i welcome you with open arms!
